IT FLIES UK 2023 winners
June 2023 - IT FLIES UK back live again this year!
For the first time since the pandemic Merlin held a live competition at The University of Swansea in their brand new simulation lab. Teams from Swansea, Manchester, The University of South Wales and Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences competed.
Flying judges were retired test pilots Gordon McClymont and Dave Southwood, and the project presentation judge was Dr. David Philpott.
The winners? A team from Swansea University with their design of a hybrid-electric turboprop. Second were The University of Manchester.
