Manchester University Order MP521 Simulator
The School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering at The University of Manchester have ordered an MP521 Simulator, plus an upgrade of their existing MP520. This combined with the upgrade of two existing University workstations to the equivalent to Merlin's MP500-1 UAV/Simulation Development Stations will give Manchester students the extended facilities they require.
Since a team from Manchester won IT FLIES UK in 2012, the students' interest in simulation has soared to new heights. The increased facilities in the simulation lab. will ensure that the maximum number of students are able to work on their designs at the same time. Manchester Engineering students will be competing at IT FLIES USA at The University of Dayton on 5 April 2014.
Delivery of the new equipment is scheduled for July 2014.
Rachel Bailey, School of MACE Student Experience Manager
"We are so excited about having a new sim here in the School. The Flight Simulator Society have gone from strength to strength over the last 12 months, and this new facility will only help them to develop their skills further and work with even more students. Here at Manchester, we are all looking forward to the new Engineering campus, which is planned for 2018, and we're currently wondering where we can put our flight simulators in the new build, so that everyone can see them!"
