Farnborough International 2006
Engineering Flight Simulator used for Competition at Farnborough International
The MP520 Engineering Flight Simulator from the University of Hertfordshire was a runaway success at Farnborough International 2006.
Situated on the CommaTech Stand, the simulator was used non stop during the week for a competition. Visitors to the stand were asked to fly a take off, approach and landing of one of three aircraft types - a Cessa 172, an Airbus 320, or Merlin's model of a Vulcan.
The simulator, primarily used for the teachng of aircraft design, performance and stability at Hertfordshire, is able to replicate any subsonic aircraft.
Students from the University's Aerospace courses spent all week at the Show running the competition for CommaTech.
